ABOUT US

David Boyejo was born and raised in Lagos State, Nigeria. He started to cook at the age of 8 and learned cooking from both his mother and grandmother. At that age, he had started to cook perfectly made omelets for his family. Unlike other young boys, Boyejo was not permitted to play football outside with the boys. Instead, he was stuck in the kitchen with his grandmother.

Throughout his childhood and adolescence, David Boyejo continued to develop his passion for cooking and while studying Real Estate in Lagos, Nigeria. He cooked for free for his family, friends and parties for years, thinking cooking was just a hobby and he never thought he could make a living from it.

Fortunately, on the 25th of December, 2009, he received a call from somebody who needed a person to cater for their Christmas party. This was the very first time he got paid for a catering job. That day, he got four other job offers, and just realized that he could make a living from his passion.

At the age of 31, David Boyejo just decided to quit his job as a project administrator in a real estate development firm in order to spend his days cooking for people.

He didn't want to be 'just a caterer' like everybody was, but he wanted to be a proper professional Chef, so he decided to enrol in a French culinary school to get a proper culinary education.

While in France, he had the opportunity to spend some months as an intern in famous restaurants in Saint Tropez, Courchevel and Val-Thorens.

He met his French wife while working in the ski resort city of Courchevel and he decided to remain in France and fortunately was offered a job with the group he was working for.

He started from the very bottom as a trainee, he learned so much in big kitchens and worked with a very famous French Chef, then moved on to work at The Meridien in Nice and was able to attain the title of a sous chef in a restaurant in the West of France.

He spent his honey-moon in Playa Samara, Costa Rica and David Boyejo and his wife Audrey just fell in love with the town and the country in general. Five months later they were settled in Puerto Carrillo, a coastal town next to Samara.

From October 2015, David Boyejo and his family were fully  settled in Costa Rica and he worked as a private Chef and Restaurant Consultant. He started to make products(jams, cookies, bagels, muffins, etc) which he sold in the farmer's market in the town, as a restaurant consultant he helped in the creation of menus and training of staff.

As time went by he got well known in the town, he worked as a private chef in many villas and he often had people come to his house to enjoy private dining experiences and private cooking lessons.

He had the opportunity of cooking for a vegan wedding in Playa Samara.

He has now moved to Capital city of Costa Rica, San Jose, living in Escazu, still working as a private Chef, selling his products in the markets and in a café in Escazu and to individuals and still running his cooking classes.
